What is a flange gasket?
Flange gaskets are used to seal pipes carrying liquid or gas. When pipes are joined together, the connections are sealed with flange gaskets to prevent leakage and protect the contents from external contamination. Flange gaskets usually consist of flat rings made of different types of rubber, and have holes for connecting bolts. When the bolts are tightened, the gasket is compressed, creating the seal against leakage.
