Energy
We enable efficient and sustainable energy processes
By combining deep material knowledge with robust flow technology, we help our customers increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions and ensure reliable handling of corrosive and abrasive media.
We focus mainly on the following processes:
- Condensate treatment
- Flue gas condensation
- Flue gas cleaning
Condensate treatment
Flue gas condensate is primarily purified using membrane technology, which provides energy and chemical savings. Membrane technology covers everything from dilution water production from flue gas condensate to simple cases with requirements for particle content and pH.
Flue gas condensation
The basis of the technology is a moist fuel (typically biofuel or waste) and a recipient of low-grade energy (typically district heating). The moisture in the fuel vaporises before combustion of the fuel, which is an energy loss. However, with different technologies, the energy yield from the fuel can be increased, resulting in a large saving in terms of reduced fuel demand and also providing significant environmental benefits. Carbon dioxide emissions decrease with fuel demand and the flue gas leaving the plant is cleaned in the process.
Flue gas cleaning
In combination with flue gas liquefaction, flue gas cleaning is a natural feature. Flue gas cleaning systems have the task of reducing the amount of environmentally and health hazardous emissions to the atmosphere. These include heavy metals, dioxins, eutrophying and acidifying substances. Many of these substances are toxic and carcinogenic. It is therefore important to minimise their emissions. By removing sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from flue gas, the acidification of forests and lakes has been significantly reduced. The purification is usually done with scrubbers or textile barrier filters with carbon and lime dosing.
In addition to energy plants, flue gas cleaning is also used in the steel, chemical and process industries to clean flue gases generated by the combustion of hazardous, municipal and industrial waste and biofuels.
The process typically involves scrubber fluids, quench fluids, condensate and lime slurry but also sludge and liquor handling. The fluids are corrosive and/or abrasive and we supply plastic lined shaft sealed pumps, thermoplastic valves, GRP pipes and GRP tanks and GRP scrubbers.
In the environment around scrubbers and tanks we can offer fermenter and load-bearing structure that can withstand the corrosive environment made of GRP.
For sludge management we offer hose pumps and complete dosing stations for dosing. For the regulation of flue gas flows we also offer flue gas damper of corrosion resistant GRP or steel grades.
