Filter presses

Filter presses are used when liquids need to be separated from solids - for example, in the chemical, metallurgical, water treatment and mining industries. The result is a dry filter cake and a liquid phase. At Lyma, we offer filter presses that combine reliability, easy handling and high filtration efficiency.

How it works

The process is simple: a pump feeds the mixture/slurry into the filter chamber of the press. The liquid passes through the filter cloths and is removed, while the solid particles remain and form the filter cake.
When the cycle is complete, the press opens and the cake is removed - either manually or automatically depending on the model.

Chamber filter presses

A tried-and-tested, cost-effective solution with a robust design. Chamber filter presses are ideal for many industrial applications thanks to their high reliability and low maintenance costs.

Membrane filter presses

For processes where an exceptionally low residual moisture content is required, membrane filter presses are the right choice. They feature flexible membranes which, after filtration, mechanically press the cake using compressed air or water. The result is a more compact and dry filter cake - which increases efficiency and reduces subsequent drying.

Semi-mobile filter press – container-based solution

A semi-mobile filter press consists of modular containers which can be combined to form a complete dewatering plant. Different containers may, for example, house pre-treatment, sludge treatment, process water management and a filter press. This solution is particularly well suited to longer projects, higher capacity and more integrated process stages. The system can be dismantled and moved if necessary, but requires some on-site installation.

Mobile filter press – trailer-mounted solution

A mobile filter press is mounted on trailer or caravan and can be easily transported between different locations. As the equipment is delivered fully assembled on a trailer, it can on-site installation is quick, which makes it easier to temporary projects, maintenance work and when the plant needs to be moved frequently. 

Which solution is the best fit?

The choice between a semi-mobile and a mobile filter press depends primarily on the duration of the project, capacity requirements and how often the facility needs to be relocated.

Semi-mobile: High capacity and a modular design for longer-term projects.
Mobile: Quick on-site installation and easy to move for temporary projects.
