There are different mechanical seals depending on the fluid, temperature and possible contaminants to be pumped. As Lyma focuses on corrosive and abrasive applications, a common mechanical seal is the single acting bellows seal. This type of seal is standard in Wernert pumps. The bellows hold the slip ring and press it, with elastic tension - and with the help of the pump pressure - against the rotating counter ring. The static sealing of the sealing area is done by the elastic bellows which is clamped between the bellows holder and the sealing insert.

In the case of contaminated or crystallising liquids, quench flushing, continuous flushing or flushing after use can be installed.
